You remember that feeling: Staring at all the options at the store. Imagining which ones would be perfect with your favorite blue jeans. Having that extra bounce in your step as you walk into school with your new kicks. Man, even the smell of new shoes is exhilarating!
The members of Junior Auxiliary of Cleveland, TN have had this image on our minds for the past couple of months. It saddens our hearts to realize that there are some children in our area who have never known what it feels like to put on brand new pair of shoes.
We have developed an initiative to shoe the children of two schools in our area who have a need. We do realize, however, that the need is greater than just within two schools, but our hope is to expand this project year after year until we service all schools in our community.
One of the ways we have decided to obtain funds for this project is put on an event called "Have a Heart, Give a Sole." This event will house 3 races: a 5k, a 1 Mile Fun Run and a Diaper Dash for our tots! The sport of running has recently become a popular thing and happens to be especially fitting since we will be purchasing tennis shoes for our schools. All proceeds from this awesome event will go towards our project.
Our Diaper Dash will be TONS of fun! We have 5 different divisions: Crawlers, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and 4 years old. There will be a top finisher winner for each division, but then an overall winner for the top sponsor. Get those doting family members to sponsor your little one and they could win the grand prize! Sponsor forms can be downloaded the right side bar of this page. Forms and money are due on race day. Registration for the Diaper Dash will be 8:30-10:30 and the races begin at 11am.

You may pre-register for this race from now until February 3rd at midnight. When you pre-register through the BLUE link on the right of this page, (or HERE) you are guaranteed a race t-shirt and a race goody bag. If you prefer to register on race day, you may purchase a race t-shirt for an additional $15 and the goody bags will be first register, first serve pending on what we have left from our pre-registrants.
